Despite the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, which highlighted the contribution of migrants, integration policy has largely failed to adapt &#8211; especially in terms of political participation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"785\">Austria achieved 47 out of 100 points (+1 since 2019) and is therefore below the EU (49), OECD (56) and EU-14 average (63). Improvements were only made in the area of education (interpreting services, information systems). There are still major hurdles in family reunification (36), citizenship (13) and political participation (20).  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"787\" data-end=\"1029\">The frontrunners are Sweden (86), Finland (85) and Portugal (81) with comprehensive integration models. In contrast, according to MIPEX, Austria only pursues &#8220;temporary integration&#8221; &#8211; rights are available, but without long-term security. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1031\" data-end=\"1305\">Reforms in Spain (stronger anti-discrimination laws) and Germany (dual citizenship, shortened naturalization period) are viewed positively.
