SUMMARY:Your Vienna. Your city
DESCRIPTION:Participation.dialog.encounter at eye level \nTopic: 60 years of migration: yesterday-today-future \nWhen: Thursday\, May 23\, 2024\, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. \nWhere: Amtshaus Favoriten / Keplerplatz 5\, 10th district \nYour opinion counts! Have your say! \nAustria can look back on over 60 years of migration history in the Second Republic. From the original assumption that immigrants are merely “guests” who only stay for a few years and \nthen return to their countries of origin is no longer an issue today. \n\nAustria is a country of immigration and Vienna is the best example of this.\nAround 44% of Viennese are of foreign origin\, i.e. they either have a foreign nationality or a foreign country of birth.\nAround half of all Viennese have a migrant background\, i.e. (in the statistics) both of their parents were born abroad.\n\nMore information about integration and diversity

SUMMARY:Migration. Woman. Family violence - a search
DESCRIPTION:Migration is feminine. Hardly any population group faces more problems than women with a migration background. This is particularly the case with family problems and violence in the family. Strict provisions in residence law\, a lack of educational and employment opportunities and economic inequality are major obstacles for women with a migrant background. This makes it difficult for them to free themselves from violent relationships. This presentation will discuss and analyze the areas of residence\, the labor market and work-life balance. This knowledge should show ways to free oneself from dependencies and stop violence. Because: Migrant women must not be allowed to slip into isolation. \nLecturer: Angela Ivezic (Counseling Center for Migrants) \nDate: April 23\, 2024 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 a.m. \nVenue: 15th\, Gasgasse 8-10\, Stiege 1\, 1st floor left\, Amtshaus Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus\, seminar room of the Department of Integration and Diversity \n  \nExcerpt from original – City of Vienna\, January 16\, 2024

SUMMARY:Vienna Women's Week 2024
DESCRIPTION:More than a week\n In 2022\, the largest Viennese women’s survey “Vienna as she wants it” was conducted. It shows the situation of women and girls in Vienna as well as their wishes and ideas for the future. Around 15\,500 Viennese women took part and gave more than 77\,000 answers. More space\, more time and more opportunities: this is what the Viennese women who took part in Vienna’s largest women’s survey want. The results are the basis for numerous concrete projects that have already been implemented (for more information\, see frauenbefragung.wien.gv.at). The “Vienna Women’s Week”\, taking place for the first time this year\, is another measure that meets the desire of Viennese women for more low-threshold\, free services and represents the City of Vienna’s commitment to promoting equality and supporting women and girls in Vienna in order to give them more time\, more space and more opportunities. March 8 has been celebrated for more than 100 years as a day of struggle for equal rights for women.1 The City of Vienna\, its companies\, districts and partners offer a wide range of events to mark International Women’s Day. The Vienna Women’s Week website is intended to make the events taking place in the week surrounding International Women’s Day on March 8 more visible. The program brings together more than 100 free offers throughout Vienna in 2024 and provides a compact overview of the diverse program taking place during this period. The Vienna Women’s Week ends with the “Open City Hall” on March 8\, 2024 from 16:00 to 20:15. As every year\, you can expect a variety of information stands and a colorful program. You will also find the details on this page. The City of Vienna stands up for women every day. The Vienna Women’s Service (MA57) finances and organizes projects throughout the year that promote independent living for women and girls. We wish you bread and roses\, all the best for International Women’s Day and lots of fun with the exciting program. Excerpt from original – City of Vienna\, March 8\, 2024

SUMMARY:Migration.woman.family.violence. One search
DESCRIPTION:Migration is feminine. Hardly any population group faces more problems than women with a migration background. Especially if there are family problems and violence in the family. The strict regulations in the right of residence\, lack of educational and employment opportunities\, as well as economic inequality are central obstacles for women with a migration background to break free from violent relationships. Together\, this module discusses and analyzes the areas of residence\, labor market\, and work-life balance. This knowledge should show ways to free oneself from dependencies and stop violence. Because: Migrant women must not be allowed to slip into isolation. \nSpeaker: Angela Ivezic (Counseling Center for Migrants)

SUMMARY:Media appointment for the opening of the Job Mile
DESCRIPTION:  \nBM Kocher\, des. AMS Vienna GF Göschl and Caritas Vienna Dir. Schwertner open 12th Job Mile and show perspectives and obstacles for people affected by unemployment\nVienna (OTS) – A few days before April 30\, Unemployment Day\, a media event will draw attention to the situation of people affected by unemployment. The situation on the Austrian labor market has recently eased considerably. At 6.2 percent\, the unemployment rate is currently lower than it has been since 2008. The placement rates in Caritas employment projects are also more positive than they have been for a long time. And many companies are still desperately seeking personnel. At the same time\, there are still unemployed people who are not benefiting from this good economic situation. Especially for long-term unemployed people\, re-entering the labor market is challenging. The Job Mile is intended to remedy this situation. \nAfter a two-year Corona-related hiatus\, the 12th Job Mile will take place on April 25. At this job fair\, Caritas and 23 other organizations present concrete job and counseling offers for long-term unemployed women and men. \nMedia appointment and opening “Job mile” \nwith \n\nMartin Kocher\, Federal Minister of Labor and Economic Affairs\nWinfried Göschl\, designated Managing Director AMS Vienna\nKlaus Schwertner\, Caritas Director of the Archdiocese of Vienna\n\nPeople affected by unemployment are available as interview partners. \nWhen: Tuesday\, 25.4.2023\, 9 a.m.\nWhere: carla mittersteig\, Mittersteig 10\, 1050 Vienna \nRegistration is requested. \nInquiries & Contact:\nMichaela Knight\nPress\, Caritas of the Archdiocese of Vienna\nMobile: 0676 4634932\nmichaela.ritter@caritas-wien.at
