SUMMARY:Innovation in Politics Awards 2025
DESCRIPTION:On September 17\, 2025\, the Innovation in Politics Awards gala took place in Vienna – an event that puts the spotlight on innovative projects and bold ideas from all over Europe. We were there to witness best practices in democracy\, integration and social cohesion being honored. \nThe awards are not only an award ceremony\, but also a stage for exchange\, networking and inspiration. Finalists from more than 20 countries were selected in eight categories – including Social Cohesion & Integration\, Democracy Technologies and Local Development. The projects show what is possible when politics\, civil society and technology work together to overcome real challenges. innovationinpolitics.eu \nIt was particularly exciting for us to see how many initiatives deal directly with topics that migrant also works with: Integration\, co-determination\, educational opportunities and social participation. The evening was a strong signal that innovation and empathy go hand in hand – and that change is possible when people and organizations stand together.

SUMMARY:Job fair at the MAK to create prospects
DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday\, the 16th Vienna Job Fair Perspektive took place at the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK). The fair is aimed at Viennese people who find it particularly difficult to find a job. \n24 social enterprises from Vienna were open to the public at the job fair on Tuesday between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm. The fair is organized by Arbeit plus in cooperation with the AMS Vienna and the Wiener Arbeitnehmer*innen Förderungsfonds (waff). The Ministry of Social Affairs\, the Social Welfare Office (MA 40) and the Vienna Social Fund are also represented. \nJobseekers should receive advice and support as well as specific job offers in the socio-economic enterprises to enable a good re-entry. The special feature: you can apply for jobs directly on site. There are hundreds of offers from various sectors such as catering\, IT and retail to choose from. \nUnemployment in Vienna above average\nThe unemployment rate in Vienna is the highest among the federal states. At 11.7 percent\, it is well above the Austrian average of seven percent. The fair is primarily aimed at those Viennese who have been looking for work for some time or for whom special circumstances\, such as health restrictions\, caring responsibilities or a lack of education\, make it difficult to find a job. According to the main organizer Arbeit plus\, it is precisely these people who are a valuable resource for the Viennese job market. \nOn-site advice and support\nAround half of all unemployed people in Vienna have no further education or vocational training. The aim is to counteract this. In addition to specific job offers\, organizations such as waff and Fonds Soziales Wien offer advice on further training opportunities. Jobseekers are also to be offered prospects through qualification and advisory services. \n  \nEvent information\nEvent: “Arbeitplus” job fair\nWhen: October 14\, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. \nWhere: Weiskirchnerstraße 3\, 1010 Vienna \nExcerpt from Original – Vienna ORF\, October 14\, 2025
